Jan is a dear friend who agreed to model for me. Such patience! This is on 18x24 tinted paper, done in graphite and white charcoal. Sure enjoyed working from a live model again!
Very convincing, Deborah. The hair really grabs the eye. I'm also working a piece with this media combination. There is something very special about the combination of 3 colors, creates lots of interest.
Nice! Good to see you are working with a (human) model again! Do you have another sitter lined up? Looking forward to seeing more. Best to you and Wayne,
After studying with Tony Ryder at the Ryder Studio in Santa Fe, NM I have found myself completely drawn to the mystique of the human face. I still love landscapes and still life work, but there is a tremendous joy in working with a live model.
Painting since 1994, full time since 2000, I have studied in the US, France and England. Portraiture studies have been with Perrin Sparks of Texas and Anthony Ryder of Santa Fe, NM. I am now working with my mentor, Jennifer Welty of CA.
