While working on my latest still life, I received some beautiful roses. Couldn't really do a full painting, so I tried a larger poster study.

Why I paint portraits
After studying with Tony Ryder at the Ryder Studio in Santa Fe, NM I have found myself completely drawn to the mystique of the human face. I still love landscapes and still life work, but there is a tremendous joy in working with a live model.

About Me
- Deborah Allison
- Painting since 1994, full time since 2000, I have studied in the US, France and England. Portraiture studies have been with Perrin Sparks of Texas and Anthony Ryder of Santa Fe, NM. I am now working with my mentor, Jennifer Welty of CA.

Hi Deborah,
Did you wear your roses in your hair? That would have made them even lovelier than they already are!
Good luck with your still life. I wish you were sitting upstairs at the studio with me painting still life! Oh well.
