Yippee!!!

"Raven".............."Randy".................. "Cherished"
I entered these three pieces into a regional art show put on by the Kate Hoffman Art Association. Saturday, I was thrilled to learn that "Raven" received 3rd place and "Randy", 1st place in the Portrait Category. "Cherished" got 1st in the Still Life Category. AND.... "Randy" was judged Best in Show. Wow! guess those classes paid off!

First of all, smart of you to enter all 3 pieces. Fantastic results and well deserved. Have you seen any of the other entries? Validation is not the goal, but it must be nice to get a little now and then.

Double-yippee from both of us! Deb that is great news! I'm proud of your accomplishments, and not at all surprised that others feel the same way about your talent! We will let Zozobra know this evening that he may have one less "item of worry" to worry about.

I've entered this show most years since 2003 and never done any better than 2nd in a category. Tho I realize I am not painting for the approval of others, it is a hoot to have the "hometown" award. There are 90 works in the show, all levels ...including some folks who have been my students...and I am very proud of their work.

great job --- just watching someone "enjoy" a painting is always such a lift---but taking home a ribbon is a little icing for sure.

great job
