Why I paint portraits
After studying with Tony Ryder at the Ryder Studio in Santa Fe, NM I have found myself completely drawn to the mystique of the human face. I still love landscapes and still life work, but there is a tremendous joy in working with a live model.

About Me
- Deborah Allison
- Painting since 1994, full time since 2000, I have studied in the US, France and England. Portraiture studies have been with Perrin Sparks of Texas and Anthony Ryder of Santa Fe, NM. I am now working with my mentor, Jennifer Welty of CA.

Deborah, The first portrait on colored paper pops off the page. It almost looks multi-colored. Nice cross-hatching, too. Simple, strong portraits.
